I swapped my Manchester flight for a layover to Manila in the Philippines – with Mamdouh again! Yay. I have been to Manila once before I joined Emirates, but it was a very quick stopover and I didn’t really do much so I was looking forward to going back. We departed Dubai in the morning and reached Manila at around 9pm.

We got to the hotel and changed straight away so we could go out and have some dinner. We got a taxi to Makati and found a restaurant where we ordered some food.

Makati at night is definitely an eye opening experience and there were many shocking sights to say the least! After our food, we walked up and down the street and then picked a prime people watching spot for a drink!

After a brilliant night out, we made our way back to the hotel and slept until around midday! Luckily, our hotel was connected to a shopping mall, so we didn’t have far to go to have a walk around the shops. There was also a busy casino inside so we watched a few rounds of poker and then got some lunch in the mall.

We wandered around outside and booked ourselves a Thai massage. We had to wait an hour so we sat outside in a cafe and then made our way to the spa. It was such a relaxing massage and just what we needed before the 9 hour flight back to Dubai!!

We had an amazing time in Manila, even thought it went so fast! There is a 48 hour layover in Manila but unfortunately this one was just for 24 hours. Next time I would like to visit Taal Volacano as I’ve seen some beautiful pictures of that. I am really looking forward to my Cebu-Clarke multi-sector trip at the end of the month too!!
Thanks for reading.

I think you went to the Red Light District of Makati, that’s why. 🙂 Next time you can check out Ayala Center (Greenbelt Area) for the other side of Makati.
