Another India layover for me and this time to Kolkata in the East which meant the flight time was a little bit longer so having a layover was ideal. It is the third time I have visited India in the last three weeks! We landed around 8am in the morning and drove over to our hotel which was only around 10 minutes from the airport.

As it was a night flight, I was feeling very tired so I dived straight into the bed and ended up sleeping until about 4pm! Luckily, the hotel is connected to a big shopping mall, so when I woke up, I got ready and went next door to have some lunch and look around the shops. I played it safe with KFC and then did some shopping.

I ended up buying a beautiful mosaic lamp which caught my eye and some earrings! It was a pretty good mall and I really enjoyed walking around checking all the shops. I bought a few snacks in the supermarket, then headed back to my room.
After some Love Island catchup, I ordered myself some butter chicken and rice and then went to sleep around midnight.

The wake up call the next morning was at 6:40am so it was an early start but after a good rest, I felt on top form and ready to go back to Dubai. As always in India, I had such a nice and relaxing layover!
Thanks for reading.

Hi Kerry,
I’m glad you survived three Indian cities. Kolkota is where Mother Teresa started her orphanage. Lots to explore in this city. You will like Delhi and Bangalore a lot. They are more westernized with malls and other amenities. Too bad, Delhi and Bangalore might only be turnovers, but I might be wrong. Have fun. xx

Hi Radika, that is very interesting about Mother Teresa. I hope to visit other places in India, especially the Taj Mahal at some point! Thanks for your comment 😊
