Lake Como, Italy

I decided to go on a spontaneous trip to Lake Como on my two days off and fly as a passenger on Mamdouh’s flight to Milan. It was so unexpected but the timing worked out really well so I couldn’t miss the chance. Mamdouh was operating the flight so it was great sitting back as a passenger and getting treated like a queen!

We landed around 2pm and then made our way to his hotel. The last time I was in Milan I went into the city and had a lovely time, but I also really wanted to go to Lake Como but I felt so tired so didn’t end up going. As soon as I decided I was going on this trip, I told Mamdouh that we were going to visit Lake Como, no question about it! We headed out straight away so that we could make the most of our time there. We got the train from Malpensa Airport, changed at Saronno and then got another train from there to Como Nord Lago.

The moment we arrived, I knew I would love the place! It was absolutely beautiful and just how I imagined it to be. The weather was also amazing, it was hot and sunny! We first had a walk around the lake and took in the stunning views.

We stopped off some lunch in a restaurant along the lake for some good old Italian food. It would have been nice to sit outside but we desperately needed some air con so we went inside and ordered up some gnocchi and seafood linguini.

We then booked ourselves onto the boat tour which takes you all around the lake to the different ports. It was absolutely stunning, I felt like I was in a movie! I can definitely see why all the celebrities come and live over here!

After the amazing cruise, we stopped off for some ice cream and then sat by the lake for a while watching the sun go down. We then walked to the Como Cathedral.

As it was 10pm, we decided to make our way back to the hotel. The next morning, I flew back to Dubai alone as Mamdouh was on a multi-sector trip to New York. Overall, I had the most amazing time in Como and it was nice to see a different side to Milan. Lake Como is absolutely breathtaking and it is everything I imagined and more.
